Indian Creek Road and Forest Road 23 can be accessed from KY 77, just north of the Steel Bridge. Indian creek is a popular area for trout fishing and primitive camping. East Fork Indian Creek is stocked with rainbow trout in March, April, May, and October. Catch & release season is October 1st through March 31st. Only artificial lures and flies may be used during this season. Many camping locations can be found in the Indian Creek area. Some areas have access to outhouses and gravel camping pads. Please follow all posted camping regulations. A backcountry camping permit is required for Indian Creek, however camping 300 ft. from the road is not. Indian Creek is also an excellent area to view wildflowers. The area’s exposed limestone promotes an abundance and variety of wildflowers, especially species that bloom in early spring.
